Four Corners Regional (FMN)
Farmington, NM (1 mi)

Elevation: 5503
The airport sits on a plateau so you automatically get an extra 1000
feet of above surface altitude very shortly after takeoff. The restaurant in the terminal
has great Mexican food. From here you can fly over Chaco Canyon, or to Monument Valley,
Gallup, see Jim Chee at Shiprock or go on to Page, AZ. (ked 9/94)

A pueblo-style terminal lets you know what state youre in when
you land. Travel into the town and visit the Governors Palace, the Museum with the
works of most of the famous artists who worked in the Southwest. The food is outstanding,
needless to say. Indian Market takes place in late August and is a must if you can time
it. (ked/gv/dd/md 9/94)
Taos Municipal (SKX)
Taos, NM (6 mi)
Denver Sectional
Elevation: 7091
Fly in to a beautiful and only flat spot in the area. You can see
the ski slopes from the terminal. The Taos Pueblo is worth a visit, as well as the rest of
town. There is frequently an outdoor art show with all kind of good things to see and
taste. (ked/gv/dd/md 9/94)
